Dear Club Members,
Hello everyone, earlier this year I accepted the position of President of the Club. I look forward to serving and hope that we can continue the growth and improvement’s we have made over the last number of years through the hard work of the Executive and dedication of many Club Members.
The Club has a long history and with the recent renewal of our lease we are looking to continue the tradition of fun curling we have fostered at MICC for at least another 10 years.
I have been a Member of MICC since 1992 when I first moved to Kamloops and have experienced the changes we have gone through both as a club and as a sport in that time. I began curling in Saskatchewan and played in Alberta through the 80s before coming to BC experiencing the game from many perspectives and on many levels through my career and I hope to bring whatever those experiences that are of benefit to the club into the Executive.
The thing that most amazes me about the game is that you can have many curlers all competing and having fun regardless of age, gender or any other differences that make us who we are. I believe this is the reason that curling has such a social element embedded in it DNA and a reason people are drawn into the sport. Through camaraderie and fellowship we play the game with honour and respect for our competition and in the words of one of our newest Members in the end, win or lose you drink the booze …. We all get together and share in our experiences and love of the sport regardless the outcome of the game.
Over the next short while we will be posting our new Executive and the position each is holding on our website. Feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions with any of us and we encourage anyone that would like to be part of the Executive to put their name forward as we can always use another opinion or point of view as we work to make the club ever more enjoyable for everyone.
From our MICC family to yours may you have a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years. See you on the ice in January!

Hello All!
This is just a notice that league play will begin Monday October 3rd.
So the good news is….league play will begin on time!
Andrew has been working up to 18 hours a day in an attempt to play catch up to get the ice done on time – so if you see him around give him a thank you….or a bottle of good Scotch! ha ha
In regards to practice ice – there will be practice ice Wednesday October 4th 3pm-10pm.

MICC MENS LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
THE SCHILLER RINK
Gil Schiller, Taylor Johnson, Quenton Martin, Dave Morrison.
This was a long night that began with a tight game between the Ihlen and Nevins/Malfair Rink.
After a hard fought victory – the Nevins/Malfair Rink faced Schiller in the final. Skip Gil Schiller made some Brier worthy shots in the 5th and 7th end to secure the Championship.
Great game and a great night for everyone involved!
